We Are Stuffed!!!!!

Room 6 is stuffed full of Thanksgiving learning and fun!!

The past few days we have been busy learning about the holiday of Thanksgiving. We talked about the first Thanksgiving and how the Native Americans and Pilgrims worked together to prepare foods for their celebration.

We also spent time talking about the traditions that still go along with the holiday today.

Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for the things we are lucky to have in our lives. We created turkeys and on each feather we wrote one thing we are thankful for....

They turned out great!

***I am thankful for a wonderful class full of bright and cheery students who bring joy and happiness to me each day!!****

One of today's traditions for Thanksgiving is to eat turkey. We wrote recipes in class for how to cook a turkey.

They sound yummy!!!!

Wishing you all a very happy and joyful Thanksgiving!

Creepy Crawly Spiders......We LOVE science!!

We are LOVING learning about spiders!!! Here are some of the fun activities we have been doing in class!

We began our unit by taking a survey of the class.        "Are you afraid of spiders?"

We collected and analyzed our data and the results show us that most of us are NOT afraid of spiders.
The results show 7 student are afraid of spiders and 14 are NOT afraid of spiders.

We then went on to discuss our schema (what we already know about spiders) and came up with some questions we were hoping to answer as during our exploration of spiders.

Our posters are surrounded by some of our super cute spider fact projects!

We have learned SO much about spiders over the past week and a half. Please be sure to ask your student to use their science terms to teach you some interesting facts about spiders!

Batty For Learning!

We finished up our science unit on bats. The students loved, loved, loved learning about these amazing mammals. We did many wonderful activities throughout this unit. The students researched bats and wrote opinion papers, made bat fact projects, and even got a chance to record class data about our opinion of bats. You will be amazed at how your student has become a bat expert. Ask them to teach you all the fancy science words we have learned to describe bats.

Do we think bats are cute or creepy???

Survey says..........

CUTE!!!!!!!!!

Here are some of our bat fact projects!!
