Dinosaurs!!!

The students in first grade have begun our study of dinosaurs. The students have been enjoying reading and learning about these giant (or small) creatures. They have a ton of questions about these extinct animals and can't wait to keep exploring them.
Take a look at our cool dino window!!! We collected our schema and asked some questions about what we hope to find out as we research!

Check out these fun websites to learn and explore more about dinosaurs.

We were also lucky enough to have our picture person Mrs. Otte come in on Tuesday to teach us about the work of Wassily Kandinsky. What a wonderful and interesting artist he was.

We used this painting of Wassily Kandinsky's to inspire our work. We focused on using colors to express our moods. We talked about how dark colors express unhappiness or anger and brighter colors express cheerfulness and joy.

The students used oil pastels and water colors to create their work. They turned out amazing!!
